Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Dennis Alan Taylor was a former banker. Jennifer Marina Joy worked as a psychotherapist. His father is an Argentine and has Scottish as well as English ancestry. Her mother has Spanish as well as English roots. The Taylor-Joy family was a clan that included six children. Four of her siblings are from her previous marriage to Taylor's father. They lived in Buenos Aires until she was six years old, and then moved to the Victoria region of London. According to Taylor-Joy the move was traumatic and she was unable to study English with the intention of moving back to Argentina.
